UK small businesses have been priced out of decent operational software for years.

The serious inventory platforms — Unleashed, Cin7, NetSuite, SAP — cost £4,000 to £20,000 a year before you've receipted a single delivery. They're built for venture-backed scale-ups and global enterprises. The pricing reflects it. The complexity reflects it. The onboarding fees absolutely reflect it.

The cheap end of the market gives you the opposite problem. Spreadsheets, basic e-commerce stock toggles, or apps that handle 80% of what you need but break the moment you try to do something specific — like batch tracking, multi-warehouse transfers, or assembly with components.

There's a huge gap in the middle for UK SMEs doing £100k–£20m turnover. Businesses with real operations — multiple staff, real warehouses, real customers — but without an in-house finance director or an IT department to wrangle enterprise software. Businesses where the founder is still picking orders on Saturday morning.

What we believe

Inventory software shouldn't require a financial controller to operate or a consultant to install. It should be obvious how to use, fair on price, and respect the fact that your business operates in pounds, not dollars.

We believe in progressive disclosure — only show people what they need today, expose more as their business grows. We believe in fair pricing — published online, no quotation games, no “contact sales” for basic plans. And we believe in no lock-in — your data is yours, exportable as CSV any time, no clauses, no fuss.

Most of all, we believe UK SMEs deserve software built with their reality in mind. VAT, not sales tax. GBP, not dollars. Royal Mail and DPD, not just FedEx. Companies House, postcodes, BACS, the small operational details that matter every day.

Every feature decision goes through a simple filter: does this make a UK SME's day easier? If a feature only matters to global enterprises with bespoke EDI requirements, it doesn't make our roadmap. We'd rather be the best tool for British small businesses than a mediocre tool for everyone.

Progressive feature development

We'd rather ship one feature that works brilliantly than ten that almost work. Every release is shaped by real customer conversations — what's blocking your week, what's annoying, what would save you 10 minutes a day. Our public roadmap shows what we're building and lets you vote on what comes next.

Transparent and fair pricing

Every plan and every price is published on our website. No quote calls, no commercial negotiation, no “enterprise discounts” for people who happen to push back hard. The price you see is the price you pay. We'll never raise it on existing customers without 90 days' notice in plain English, and there are no surprise add-on modules.

No hidden lock-ins

Your data belongs to you. Export everything as CSV any time, including products, customers, suppliers, orders, batches and movement history. No minimum contracts, no cancellation fees, no “data hostage” situations. If StockedSoft stops being the right fit, we'll help you leave properly — that's the deal.

Self-serve by default

You shouldn't need a four-figure onboarding package to use inventory software. Sign up, import your CSVs, start working. We provide written guides, short video walkthroughs, and helpful support — but we don't charge £4,000 to set up your own product list.

Honest communication

We won't oversell what we have. If a feature is on the roadmap but not built yet, we'll say so. If your business is too complex for StockedSoft, we'll tell you and suggest where to look instead. Trust is earned by saying the inconvenient thing first.

Our operating principles

The things we promise to do — and to never do — for as long as we're running this company.

We will publish all prices online

No price gating. No “talk to sales” for our standard plans. If we ever introduce a new plan tier, the price will be on the website on launch day. No discount negotiation for those who push hardest — fairness means everyone pays the same.

We will give 90 days' notice on any price change

Existing customers get 90 days' written notice before any price increase. You'll always have time to plan, budget, or move on. We won't spring it on you mid-quarter.

We will never lock your data behind a paywall

CSV export is available on every plan, including Starter. Your products, orders, customers and stock history are yours forever, including after you cancel. No 30-day grace period before deletion. We'll keep an archive available for 12 months after cancellation, just in case.

We will keep a free plan, forever

Our Starter plan is free for as long as you need it. It's not a 14-day trial. It's not a six-month introductory rate. It's a permanent home for businesses just getting going — or anyone with simple needs who shouldn't pay for software they don't use.

We will publish what we're building

Our public roadmap shows what's in progress, what's next, and what's being considered. You'll always know whether the feature you need is coming, and roughly when.

We will say what we don't do

If we don't handle EDI, you'll see it on the comparison page. If we're weaker than Cin7 on multi-channel commerce, we'll say so. We'd rather lose a sale than gain a customer who's about to be disappointed.
